Black

Finally a oil painting to post, actually this was done a few months ago. It feels a little unfinished to me but maybe that is okay, it will continue to sit to the side as I decide over the next long while. I really need to drop everything and do more painting because that is what I want to do.

Sometimes the unfinished look makes something look more finished - if you know what I mean?! I always enjoy seeing your paintings

You know it seems a bit too unfinished. The foreground being unfinished is fine, but a bit more detail in the background so it doesn't feel like she is floating in nothingness.

great piece, Dave. the main subject is highly detailed so i don't focus on the background, it's perfect like this and kind of storytelling, i mean it gives a more "dreamy" mood to the girl, she seems to be more stuck in her thoughts. hope you'll find the time to do more of these.
